Shield Round-up BAA into Semi-Finals!

Boulevard Blazers, BAA, Devonshire Colts and Somerset Eagles are through to the semi-finals of the Shield competition after wins yesterday.

Eagles won a high-scoring west-end derby 4-3 against Ireland Island Rangers at Somerset Cricket Club. Rangers took the lead in the fourth minute through Brandon Hunt before Marcus Simmons equalised in the seventh minute.

Eagles then went ahead in the sixteenth minute when Tristan Smith netted, but Jessie Mills made certain the teams would remain level at the half when he scored Rangers’ second in the 38th minute. Mills hit his second goal of the match in the 51st minute to put Rangers up 3-2, only for Eagles to hit two unanswered goals in the 59th and 70th minutes through Kanhai Fray, from the penalty spot, and Anwar Telford to secure victory.

BAA came from behind to beat St George’s 2-1 at St John’s Field. The east-enders led at the half on a 35th-minute goal from David Signor, but BAA hit back with two second-half goals from Jaylen Harvey, who equalised in the 66th minute, then struck the winner seven minutes from time from a left-footed shot from inside the box.
